During the meeting, the client candidly raised their most pressing concern: the performance of the coatings on filters and prisms deteriorated significantly after just a few months of use—with a decline in transmittance, wavelength shift and even signs of coating delamination. This issue directly led to a deterioration in the signal-to-noise ratio of end-user equipment, an increase in the frequency of calibration, and persistently high after-sales repair costs.
The client had previously attempted to switch suppliers and tighten incoming goods inspections, but the problem continued to recur periodically. To address this pain point regarding coating durability, we worked with the client to develop a systematic and feasible approach, ultimately reaching a memorandum of understanding.
Following technical discussions and an on-site inspection of the production line, the two Indian clients spoke highly of Yutai Optics’ manufacturing capabilities, coating design expertise, process transparency and willingness to collaborate on engineering matters. Both parties reached an initial agreement on three product categories—prisms, filters and lenses—with the intention of letting the data speak for itself before gradually proceeding with mass production.
Moving forward, Yutai Optics will continue to specialise in the manufacture of precision optical components, providing one-stop optical solutions for customers worldwide.
