Changchun Yutai Optics offers and customizes an extensive range of UV Fused Silica Lenses. Due to its high transmission in the near-infrared (NIR) range (approximately <92% average 400-2000nm) – resulting in a clear distinction between different wavelengths – our UV Fused Silica Lenses are regularly specified for flame detection applications.
Moreover, UV Fused Silica, as a substrate, also has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion (0.55x10-6K-1 at 300K) when compared to N-BK7 (or equivalent) [7.1x10-6K-1], meaning that it can still provide optical performance under high temperature. Its high melting point, compared to N-BK7 (or equivalent), provides further protection for applications operating within high-temperature environments. In fact, UV Fused Silica is comparable to N-BK7 (or equivalent) substrates in terms of performance, having a very similar average transmission over the visible range up to approximately 2000nm and a slightly lower refractive index. Furthermore, the Abbe constants of UV Fused Silica are also very similar to that of N-BK7 (or equivalent), although marginally higher.
We not only offer an extensive range of stock UV Fused Silica Lenses, but we also provide custom-made service. This made-to-measure service allows you to specify the dimensions, substrates, tolerances and optical coatings – if required – that are best suited to your application.
