Protective Silver Mirrors
Silver coating have extremely high reflectivity (>95%) in the visible to mid-infrared (400 nm-20 μm), but are highly susceptible to oxidation, vulcanization, and scratches, which can cause rapid loss of reflectivity. Yutai Optics protects its mirrors by coating a transparent dielectric layer on the surface of the silver coating to insulate it from air and contaminants.
